For the past couple of years, we have been collecting bloodlines of our breeds and last season focused primarily on breeding Marans. Our Marans debuted at shows this year; although they have flaws and are not yet ideal, we are pleased with their progress. Marans are known for their rich, dark brown eggs, but their egg colour can vary over time. The pullets on auction are at the point of lay and are showcased with their lightest one and darkest two eggs from the last month to demonstrate the expected egg colours.
